What is the Right Wrinkle Treatment for You?

By A Hannifudin

As human beings, aging is inevitable. All of us tend to grow old and age constantly as the years pass by. As the skin is exposed daily in the direct sunlight, pollutions, and chemicals, the wrinkles also become visible in our skin, especially on our face and neck.

Today, the markets are flooded with various wrinkle treatments to tackle this problem. Besides facelift, there are many other ways to make the skin around face and neck tighter and to bring back the former charm.

The skin appears older because some of the dead skin cells are not yet replaced with new ones. Plus, the skin loses its elasticity and moisture which is essential in keeping the skin healthy and younger looking. To make the skin look and feel soft again, skin rejuvenation is required. This is the benefit of wrinkle treatment.

Several Wrinkle Treatments are:

1) Laser treatment or the laser resurfacing is one of the treatments available for wrinkles. This can treat people with dynamic wrinkles or the wrinkles that many people develop because of the facial expression they keep using in their day-to-day life. These expressions make the skin fold that leads to formation of wrinkles at older age.

This kind of wrinkle treatment will not last a lifetime or even a year. The treatment will remove the wrinkles but the wrinkles are expected to come back after a couple of months as an effect of daily facial expressions that are impossible to avoid. A follow up laser treatment is essential to maintain the freshness of the skin without the spots of wrinkles.

In this treatment the damaged skin cells are removed and skin is tightened. The skin starts looking good in colour and texture. The root cause of the problem still remains and the damaged skin cells continue to take a lot of time to replace themselves. Within six months new wrinkles appear and another treatment is required.

2) Another kind of wrinkle treatment is the facelift. This is a treatment through surgery of the excess fats. The skin has to be cut to be able to remove the tissue that causes sagging and loose skin. After the excess fats and tissue have been removed, the skin will be pulled back to its original place and make it tighter for a better result. After the surgery, the skin will appear smooth and tighter again but sagging and wrinkles will still come back, so it is recommended that the treatment is done again after some time.

3) Besides these, there are lots of other wrinkle treatments that are being used a lot. Some people with dynamic or facial movement wrinkles also take Botox and Collagen injections. These injections fill the wrinkles and make the skin tight. This is also not a permanent solution and needs multiple treatment after short durations of three to six months. Some chemical peels like Dermabrasion and Themage are also commonly used to treat these wrinkles. - 15255
