Is Hoodia Gordonii the Best Appetite Suppressant?

By Caitlin Ryan

Can you picture yourself being able to achieve weight loss? Can you see yourself avoiding temptation and achieving the body of your dreams? Weight loss is a difficult path, but there are natural ways to control your appetite without worrying about side effects.

One such choice is hoodia gordonii. It is very popular and it might be the right choice for you. Once you figure out your choices and understand the different effects of appetite suppressants, you will be able to determine whether hoodia will be great for you. Should you choose a strong suppressant, save money or spend a bit more?

You need to contemplate a few different aspects before you make a choice. If you understand the basics behind different types and a few things about hoodia, you will be able to make a wise decision regarding your weight loss needs.

If you are sensitive to caffeine, you should steer clear of stimulant type diet pills that contain caffeine, ginseng or any number of natural sounding stimulants. You may end of feeling jittery or anxious. Cardiac patients should definitely stay away from these types of suppressants.

Though diabetics should not take hoodia gordonii, there have not been any other side effects. Hoodia works as an appetite suppressant because it contains p57. This component allows hoodia to behave like glucose in the body. It blocks the hunger signal because the brain believes that there is plenty of energy (glucose) in the body. This could have a negative effect for diabetics but not for you.

As long as you do not have diabetes, hoodia can be an excellent choice because there are no stimulant side effects, yet it is still effective in controlling your appetite.

Another consideration is cost. Hoodia gordonii products have a wide range in price. Really expensive hoodia products are probably overpriced. However, cheap hoodia is not your best bet either.

Because hoodia became so popular, the South African government had to place restrictions on the sale of this cactus. In order to purchase pure hoodia gordonii, companies need to be CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) certified. Now the supply is lower and the demand is just as great. For this reason, black markets popped up and some weight loss companies purchase illegal, fake hoodia.

Obviously, if the company purchase hoodia illegally, the fake hoodia will be ineffective. Now you have wasted the money you spent and you will still have difficult sticking to a weight loss plan. The other scenario is a weight loss company that uses to little hoodia (to save on production cost and make a higher profit). Again, this would be a poor quality substitute for the pure hoodia supplements.

Though there are tons of diet pills on the market, there may be a better form to consider. Though most weight loss products need to be in pill form, hoodia is available in liquid form as well. This means that the appetite suppressant powers of hoodia will reach your system and control your cravings that much faster. Could this mean a faster path to a sleek figure? - 15255
