The Wave Personal Gym - Is It Better Than The T-Bow?

By Carol J Bartram

I love the T-bow, so much so that I bought 17 of them! They stack one on top of each other and take up surprisingly little space in my back bedroom. I'm only reminded of them when I need to change the bed. When the mood is upon me I drag them out and take them to my Pilates classes. They add interest and make normal Pilates exercises much more challenging. My classes love them and so do I. When not in use they stack neatly in a corner.

But now there is a rival to the T-Bow - Cue the music - It's called the Wave.

The Firms Wave is similar to the T-Bow, it's shape is slightly different and it's made by the Firm a company in the USA whereas the T-Bow is made and manufactured in Switzerland.

How do the T-Bow and Wave compare?

1. Unlike the T-Bow which is constructed into a single piece of high density material the Wave has a brace to help give it strength. Both are similar in size and shape although the T-Bow is less bulky and is easier to handle. Because of the the Waves supporting brace they will not stack. The T-Bow will easily stack 15-20 units high.

2 If we look at price there is a large difference. The Wave is just under $100 on the other hand the T-Bow will set you back over $160 (If you require international shipping even more)

3. The T-Bow doesn't include much in the way of extras, a booklet explaining the exercises and a wall chart. The Wave on the other hand comes with lots of extras, a wall chart and DVD's showing you how to use the Wave, various workouts you can do on the Wave - including strength training, cardio fat-burning and a healthy eating guide.

4. Both can be used with elastic exercise bands, neither offers the bands as standard. However flexibands are inexpensive and can be bought from any sports store - in my opinion you don't need to buy specialised (and expensive) exercise bands.

Both of these pieces of equipment are excellent and if used as part of your workout will have the desired fat burning and muscle toning benefits. If you teach classes then the T-Bow gets my vote as they are easier to store. For the home user though I recommend the Wave. It will get the job done and is much better value for money. - 15255
