Using High Intensity Interval Training To Lose Belly Fat Fast

By Greg McKenzie

I am still amazed at the number of people trying to lose the belly fat that has plagued them for years. With people spending several billion dollars in the weight loss industry every year you would have thought that this problem would have been solved. The science is around to enable us to lose up to 5lbs a week in a healthy way.

In all honesty, it wasn't that long ago that I too, was in search of the perfect solution. An overnight remedy for success is every fat persons dream but in reality, it just doesn't work that way.

Firstly, I came across a wealth of diets that all claimed to offer 100% positive results and while some do work, at least in the short term, others are just plain dangerous. Secondly, I looked at numerous exercise programs and here again, while some were that weak that they could never show results, others were completely over the top as far as your average person is concerned.

And then i came across interval training. With the current scientific research that's been done on the subject, it is the most effective method of weight loss on the planet. I'll tell you why - one interval training session will help you get your body to lose the belly fat for up to 40 hours after you have exercised. (I bet you always wanted to lose weight in your sleep!). When you compare this to the 30 minutes you get out of standard steady state cardio you can see how effective it is.

To establish just how effective interval training is, a study was undertaken at Tremblay using two groups of volunteers. While group one was put on a steady state cardio program, group two were put on an interval training program. After completion of the study, the results were nothing short of spectacular, with the interval trainers having lost nine times as much subcutaneous fat than their counterparts on the steady state cardio program.

Now that might sound pretty good to you...but it gets better. They also noted that the interval trainers bodies had metabolic adaptations. They had changed the way they used energy and now were tuned into losing fat. Their bodies just naturally went into a process that would lose belly fat.

Now if we take a minute to consider that those tests were done more than a decade ago, it stands to reason that interval training techniques would surely have improved over the years, thus resulting in even more impressive results when practiced today. Even beginners just starting can expect to shed about 2lbs of body fat per week, based on three twenty minute sessions each week.

Proper interval training is known to be extremely intensive so if you're unfit, please ease into it slowly. After just a few weeks you'll be able to increase the level of intensity which of course means more rapid fat loss. Above all, whether you only need to shed one or two pounds or whether you need to half you size, interval training is the most effective way for you to loose the belly fat which has been haunting you for years. - 15255
