Review of Colon Cleansers - Colon Cleanse Pro

By Peter Wood

Being heavily marketing on the internet, Colon Cleanse Pro has become quite popular, or at least more noticeable lately. Is Colon Cleanse Pro all that they are trying to make you think it is? This shorter version of my more complete review of Colon Cleanse Pro will help you to see what Colon Cleanse Pro really has to offer, which isn't much.

When visiting their website you'll quickly see a marketing tactic that's often used to add credibility to the product but that's quite deceiving. They've posted logos of the Oprah magazine, USA Today, MSNBC, and CBS News in an attempt you make you think that Colon Cleanse Pro was somehow mentioned on or endorsed by these programs. At first glance, that's what it looks like, but if you read the quotes next to the logos, you'll see that they mention the colon or colon cleansing in some form, but say nothing about the Colon Cleanse Product itself. Above the logos it says "Colon Cleanse in the Talk of Media." Note, however that it does not say Colon Cleanse Pro (although they want you to assume that).

But does the product work as advertised? I don't know. Since they don't mention anywhere on the website what ingredients the product actually contains, it's tough to know. I'm sure that fiber's in there, but aside from that, it's anyone's guess. This is rather disturbing in that people are putting something into their body without even knowing what it is.

As if the review so far wasn't bad enough, it's about to get even uglier. When I looked into the company itself, I saw even more causes for concern. The first thing I notices was that their 'privacy policy' stated that they may sell the personal information that you give them to any third party. In short, your information is not safe with these guys.

A quick search with the Better Business Bureau provided some insightful information as well. The BBB gave Colon Cleanse Pro a big fat 'F' of a grade. And just like in high school, an F isn't exactly what you want to see. Not only did they score poorly, but the BBB reportedly tried to meet with Colon Cleanse Pro "to discuss ways to correct the underlying cause of complaints." They then said, "The company has failed to respond to our request." I don't know about you, but I don't exactly feel comfortable purchasing something from this company.

The first thing that you'll notice when you visit the Colon Cleanse Pro website is that big free trial that they offer. And while there may be some legitimate free trial offers out there, most of the ones that I've seen have been a way to lure people into a scam. In Colon Cleanse Pro's case? Smells like a scam to me. If you read in the fine print in the terms and conditions, you'll see that by getting a free trial, you also agree to enroll in their autoship program. This basically means that if you don't cancel within 15 days fo your order you will charged $69.98 and they will start shipping you new product every month and charging you the $69.98. I've read many complaints that it has been very hard for people to actually cancel this program and before they know it, they've been charged quite large amounts. Do yourself a favor, and make sure that you read all the fine print so that you know what you're getting yourself into.

I decided to test the ability to cancel the autoship myself (or just to see how their customer service was) by calling. The result? Nobody answered my phone call. Now I don't know if this was just a chance occurrence or not, but it definitely makes one raise their eyebrows a bit. Oh, and did I mention that if you are able to return your product, they charge a 15% restocking fee. Ouch!

So to sum it all up, Colon Cleanse Pro appears to be more interested in taking advantage of consumers by using downright unethical marketing and sales tactics to trick people into letting them take money out of their account. There also seems to be quite a bit of evidence backing this up (the BBB, compliant boards on the internet, and my unanswered phone call). My suggestion? Stay away from Colon Cleanse Pro. - 15255
