3 Ways To Look or Appear Taller

By Rodney Williams

For the most part, growing taller is out of our hands, coming down to many factors which we have little to no control over. While some steps to make small height gains can be undertaken, these may not be possible for everyone, and even then, you still may be looking to appear a little taller than you are. Or perhaps you simply want to appear taller for certain occasions only, without actually getting taller.

No matter the circumstances, there are three methods in particular that can quickly and easily give the appearance to others that you're taller than you actually are.

1) The first, and probably most obvious way to look taller is through the use of footwear, be it insoles inside your currently existing footwear, or a new set of footwear designed to leave you higher off the ground.

Shoes can readily be found on the market which will discreetly increase your height a good couple of inches. Insoles can also help to raise your height a good inch or two, but must be compatible with the footwear you plan to use them with.

2) Perhaps not as obvious as footwear, clothes too can be used to make you appear taller. With clothes, it's simply the illusion of being taller rather than with footwear, which does actually make you taller while you're wearing them.

Wearing tighter fitter clothing should be your first priority, as loose or baggy clothes give you a more squat appearance. Vertical lines on shirts are another great way to give off the illusion of being taller. Women should wear compact dresses or skirts, and no-waste pants. Men should also stick to wearing their pants as low as possible (within reason), and wearing cuff-less pants is also advised.

3) Finally we come to hair, without a doubt one of our most recognizable features, and one that can fairly easily be changed to give ourselves a whole new look, be it through a new style, cut, or coloring. Hair can just as easily be used to our advantage in our attempts to look taller as well.

No, we're not advocating you sporting a high rise Mohawk, but even shortly cut hair, slightly spiked at the front does an excellent job of making you look taller. Women should avoid having long hair which hides the neck, instead styling it upward if they do wish to maintain their hair's length.

Adding a few of these tricks into your arsenal should help you become, look, and feel taller, and without any exercise or hard work of any kind necessary. - 15255
